Strawberry Plum Smoothie

healthy breakfast, no sugar added plum strawberry
Ripe, tart plums give this smoothie a bit of a kick, which is just what I need in the morning.
This turns a very happy pink color, which is always a nice way to start your day too.
A friend of mine dropped off some tart plums from her mother's tree. They were so delicious, but some were definitely going to go bad before I ate all of them, so I peeled, pitted, and froze the plums. When I decided to make a smoothie, I thawed them a little in the microwave because my strawberries were frozen too.
The banana makes the smoothie sweet, though you may still want to add powdered sugar or something else to make it sweeter.

Ingredients

1/3 cups diced plums, peeled and pitted
4 frozen strawberries
1 small banana
1/3 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  • Place all ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth. Taste and add more sweetener if needed. Drink immediately. Yields 1 cup.
Tell me what your favorite smoothie ingredients are!
